Wizkid and Shatta Wale are nominated for MTV Video Music Awards in 2021.

Wizkid, Nigeria’s popular singer and composer, has been nominated for an MTV Video Music Awards with Shatta Wale, Ghana’s dancehall king.

Ayo Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, has been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award alongside Ghanaian dancehall superstar Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., better known by his stage name Shatta Wale.

The MTV Video Music Awards are a televised ceremony hosted by MTV that honours the best in the music video medium. The African artists were nominated for their contributions to Beyonce’s “Lion King” album.

Wizkid received a nomination for ‘Best R&B‘ for Beyonce’s ‘Brown Skin Girl,’ as well as a nomination for ‘Best Cinematography‘ for the same song.

Shatta Wale, on the other hand, was nominated for ‘Best Art Direction for Beyonce’s ‘Already,’ which also features Major Lazer.
