Apple’s Apple Configurator app, which is used to deploy iOS and Mac devices in schools and businesses, was updated this week. The latest version of the tool is fully compatible with the newly released third-generation iPhone SE and fifth-generation iPad Air, as well as the most recent iOS and macOS versions.
Organizations such as schools or businesses can use Apple Configurator to easily configure a large number of iOS devices and Macs using a single computer. The app allows you to customize settings, apps, and data for students or employees.
Apple Configurator has a flexible, device-centric design that allows you to quickly and easily configure one or dozens of devices. Simply select a single device or a group of devices and carry out an action.
You can use Apple Configurator to update software, install apps and configuration profiles, rename and change device wallpaper, export device information and documents, and much more. You can also inspect any device to see information such as its serial number and hardware addresses, as well as which apps and profiles are installed and its console log.
The app’s version 2.15.1 makes it compatible with the most recent devices and software updates announced by Apple earlier this month at the special “Peek Performance” event.
Apple also announced last year that Apple Configurator would be coming to the iPhone. The iOS app, on the other hand, was designed to configure a Mac that was not purchased by an organization into Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager.
Apple Configurator is a free app that can be downloaded from the App Store. The tool is only compatible with Macs running macOS Catalina 10.15.6 or later.
