One killed after explosion at SSNIT’s Premier Towers

On Saturday, October 30, an explosion occurred at the grounds of Premier Towers of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) in Accra, killing one person and badly injuring two others.

Two gas cylinders were being utilized by two scrap merchants to break an old metal rubbish container into pieces when the incident occurred, according to management.

One of the junk dealers died at the scene, while the other was airlifted to the 37 Military Hospital.

The third casualty was an Uber driver who happened to be passing by at the time of the event.

The issue has been investigated quickly, and management has assured personnel and clients of their safety.

As a result, office operations will continue unabated on Monday, November 1.
