Mr JazziQ, or Tumelo Manyoni, rose to popularity as one half of the South African Amapiano DJ/producer duo JazziDisciples, who had a run of dancefloor and streaming platform successes.
The talented DJ was born in Nelspruit, South Africa, on March 3, 1995, and was raised by his grandmother in Alexandra while his parents stayed in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs. His alma mater was Highlands North Boys High School.
He began his DJ career at the age of fourteen, and he began producing at the age of sixteen. He began making other types of music before collaborating with Josiah, who was also producing amapiano at the time.

JazziDisciples
They are a male duet from Alexander, which is located north of Johannesburg. The dance songs “sgubu se monati” and “long-lasting” helped Jazz Disciples make a name for themselves in the amapiano market. ‘Amapiano is a lifestyle,’ their all-encompassing scream has become a party hymn.
They released their debut studio album, Disciples of Piano, on November 1st, 2019. Local musicians such as Okmalumkoolkat, Vigro Deep, Nomisupasta, and DJ Buckz collaborated on the record. They were nominated for the Dance Music Awards South Africa’s Best Amapiano Record in 2019. In 2020, the pair produced standalone projects to further explore their sound and vision. Mr JazziQ’s EP 0303, which featured vocalist Moonchild Sanelly, was published by JazziDisciples in March 2020. The EP SOM (Spirits Of Makoela) by Josiah De Disciple was released in May 2020.
