The follow-up to Nas’ Grammy-winning album King’s Disease has been released. Ms Lauryn Hill, Eminem, YG, Charlie Wilson, and others perform on the album.
Hit-Boy co-produced the album and has a song on it called “Composure.” Ms Hill’s collaboration with Nas is one of her few recent musical endeavours, which also includes recording a studio version of “Guarding the Gates” for the Queen and Slim album.
The first song from King’s Disease II is “Rare,” which has a music video made by Savannah Setten, according to Pitchfork. Nas switches between video and still photography, colour and black-and-white in the video for “Rare.”
Setten also directed Baby Keem’s video. Last year’s winner, King’s Disease, beat out D Smoke, Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist, Jay Electronica, and Royce Da 5’9″ for Best Rap Album. It was the rapper’s first win after 14 nominations. Gout is, by the way, the classic King’s Disease.
