Ethereum September Losses Were Gains for Competitors. This month, cryptocurrency markets witnessed a battle of smart contract blockchains, with upstarts Avalanche and Solana seeing double-digit gains while the leading Ethereum network’s ether (ETH) token experienced sharp losses.

During the month, Avalanche’s AVAX token gained 52 percent, outperforming all other digital assets with a market capitalization of at least $10 billion tracked by Messari. The SOL coin of Solana, which is backed by Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange, has increased by 23 percent. The value of Terra’s LUNA token increased by 7.5 percent.

According to a report by Ryan Watkins, a research analyst at Messari, increased activity on these chains and rising fees, or “gas prices,” on Ethereum may be undermining the sector leader’s dominance.

“Unsurprisingly, as Ethereum’s dominance is called into question, speculators are flocking to these platforms’ corresponding tokens,” Watkins added.

Traders’ recent preference for Ethereum competitors contrasts with the scenario earlier this year, when investors were captivated by the dominating network’s rapid expansion, and ETH soared. According to James Butterfill, an investment analyst at CoinShares, the company’s market share has risen significantly, and it now accounts for 26 percent of investment products, up from 11 percent in January.

Ether’s price has nearly quadrupled this year, compared to bitcoin’s 46 percent increase. Avalanche’s AVAX, on the other hand, has grown 20-fold this year, with a market valuation of $14 billion. SOL, meantime, has grown 74-fold to $41 billion.

“Investors flocked to Ethereum because of its world computer concept,” Butterfill said. “Nevertheless, as a result of increased prices, it has revealed an inefficient network as well as exorbitant gas fees.” This is why, he noted, there is a spillover of interest into competing networks, particularly those with low transaction costs.

Smart contract blockchains performed well below the $10 billion mark in September. The ALGO token of Algorand increased by 38 percent, while the ATOM token of Cosmos increased by 35 percent. Tezos (XTZ) increased by 10%.

Cardano, which only this month launched its long-awaited smart contract capability, was one among the largest losers. The ADA cryptocurrency, which is being developed by Charles Hoskinson, a former Ethereum developer, has dropped by 28%.

Cardano’s decline, according to analysts, could be a case of “buy the rumor, sell the fact,” because speculators had pushed up the price in expectation of the upgrade.

Some of the advances may have been fueled by the implementation of incentive schemes, such as user awards – often comparable to free money for those willing to put in the effort – and grants for developers to create or advance new applications. Avalanche concluded a $230 million private sale of AVAX tokens to crypto funds on September 16. Alogrand has established a $300 million fund to encourage the development of decentralized finance (DeFi).

“Blockchains are vying for talent,” said Denis Vinokourov, Synergia Capital’s head of research. According to one expert, “aiding with finance is one of the simplest ways to encourage software developers to develop on one chain rather than the other.”

In an email to CoinDesk, Martin Gaspar, a research analyst at CrossTower, attributed the increase to “growing investor optimism on smart contract chains (AVAX and ALGO).”

According to Vinokourov, there will be no new initiatives or potential users without developers. Because developers are in short supply right now, he said, such incentives are being pushed.

Ethereum September Losses: Is Ethereum a good investment?

Overall, Ethereum is the best cryptocurrency investment of the year due to its crucial role in the creation of NFTs and dapps, as well as its inventive potential after converting to a PoS network. The volatility of the cryptocurrency market is substantially higher than that of the stock market. This may not be the market for you if you are especially risk averse. Ethereum, on the other hand, may be a terrific investment for you if you’re a diamond-handed investor who won’t lose sight of short-term losses.

Is Ethereum legit?

Yes is the short answer to this question. Ethereum code is a secure and reliable cryptocurrency trading platform.
We don’t know if automatic Bitcoin trading bots will be a long-term source of revenue because they’re a new invention. For the time being, we can confirm that the Ethereum code earns the revenues it claims. The software transformed $250 into $1,399 during one test. Although users may not witness the same dramatic return on investment that Ethereum code implies, it is extremely probable that they will profit. We also think the program is safe, dependable, and transparent.
